SHAMANIC BREATHWORK

COMMUNITY EVENT

Shamanic Breathwork

and Fall Equinox Ceremony

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this workshop is regrettably cancelled

Saturday, September 23   |  11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  |  Milo Farm in Buckner, MO

This will be a partnered breathwork

“Shamanic breathwork acted as a vehicle in which I safely addressed some of the deep traumas I experienced as a child.

My vision brought me to a healing space that I had never been to — it was a space which I had not been able to fully access via other forms of therapy. When it was over, I was left with a deep sense of abiding peace and equanimity, which stayed with me for several days, as my body processed and integrated everything that happened in the SBW experience.”

~ Walker, Hospice Worker

Is your Spirit craving an energetic reset? Is it time to shift some energy? Maybe investigate what is seeking to be birthed through you right now or receive a vision on next steps? Or lay what no longer serves you on the altar of Mother Nature?

Then I invite you to join me for a day of journeying, healing, fellowship and ceremony held on 50 nourishing acres of sacred land at Milo Farm.

Shamanic Breathwork (SBW) can help you access your own innate wisdom and inner guidance in a way many other therapies can’t come close to. Using a specific breathing technique, chakra-attuned music, art and energetic bodywork, SBW allows you to access a naturally induced altered state of consciousness from which your inner wisdom can lead you to the experiences you need to have for your own growth and healing.

We will be breathing during the potent ceremonial window of the Fall Equinox which will create a powerful window for releasing, healing, moving stuck energy, and gaining clarity.

At the equinox, the Sun is tracking due East and due West all over the planet, so no matter how far North or South you are creating a balance of day and night or light and dark. This means the days and nights are equal in length.

This equinox is also known as the second harvest (in the Northern hemisphere). The first harvest falls on Lughnasadh, the cross-quarter that occurs in early August. The 3rd and final harvest occurs on Samhain, the cross-quarter that occurs in early November.

What spiritual concepts might you connect with at this special turning of the calendric wheel? We will call in and work with multiple themes such as balance, equality, harvesting what you've planted, and impermanence during our time together. Here's a little further exploration to seed your consciousness:

1. Balancing light and dark

You can think of this figuratively as well as literally. Consider these pairs and how they are currently expressing (or not expressing) themselves in your life: inner and outer, masculine and feminine, above and below, heaven and earth, left brain and right brain.

The equinoxes are a special time to check in with yourself and give conscious thought to how balance is showing up in all areas of your life. And balance doesn't mean everything has to be 50/50. You know the signals your body and psyche give you when things are unequal or disharmonious... listen to what is seeking to come into greater harmony.

2. Letting go, accepting impermanence

As the leaves begin to fall, it is a reflection of the trees' trust in their own innate rhythms and cycles. Because of changes in temperature and the length of daylight, the leaves stop their food-making process. Chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. It is just the way of things and the trees nor the leaves fight this process.

What in your life is ready to leave? Are you fighting the natural death cycle that will eventually feed and bring new life just as the leaves become nourishing humus for the soil? Can you surrender gracefully into what is coming to completion?

3. Going inward, slowing down

In the Northern hemisphere, the Fall Equinox signals movement out of the busy, productive and yang energies of summer and into the inward, reflective, dormant, yin energies of winter. It is absolutely natural to want to slow down, nest, conserve energy, and become internal. You are a part of nature! On the outside it looks as if nature is dying, but it is simply a part of the bigger cycle of life, death and rebirth.

In fall and winter, you, too are releasing and moving into a phase of slowing down to conserve energy and build up your stores for the next growth cycle. Don't feel like you are bound to the unnatural, artificially-created rhythms and cycles of commerce, business and other industries (they don't acknowledge or enforce downtime, reflection, and listening to natural rhythms and cycles.) Listen to your body!

If you're new to Shamanic Breathwork, click here for more information. In short, SBW is a powerful modality that can facilitate:

  • connection with your guides and higher self

  • understanding of visions and dreams

  • transformation

  • inspiration, and much more!

During the breathwork, your inner shaman is in charge! You'll only experience what you are ready for. And, it will be in a safe and sacred container where your full expression and authenticity is encouraged. This land is dedicated to holding space for deep, intimate and sacred processes.

You will be primarily supported by your partner, but I will also be walking the floor and supporting the entire group as needed in collaboration with shamanic breathwork facilitator Joan Jarrett who will be supporting me.

In addition to the breathwork, we will also be conducting a ceremony of offerings, gratitude, and releasing on the land to honor the fall equinox.

This breathwork will be conducted in pairs, so feel free to bring a friend or partner (there's also a discount for registering two people together.) And if you don't have a partner, don't worry. We'll pair unaccompanied folks up in the morning.

Please also note that this breathwork will be conducted outside under a covered pavilion (with a concrete pad). So we will be in the elements!

Shamanic Breathwork is generally conducted on the floor. You will need to bring:

  • A pallet for the floor (such as a yoga mat, blanket, cushioned mat, sleeping bag  or whatever you need to be comfortable on the floor)

  • Pillow(s) for your head

  • Additional pillows for your body comfort or to hug, if needed

  • Water/drink in a closed container

  • Journal or notebook

  • Wear comfortable clothes

  • An eye mask if you desire

  • Snacks

  • Offerings to the earth for the outdoor ceremony (sacred waters, tobacco, cornmeal, stones, crystals, whatever calls to you! Some elements will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own.)

Further instructions will be supplied upon registration.

If you are ready to powerfully move some energy, connect with your higher guidance, get clarity on an issue or release old baggage, then I encourage you to come to this half-day workshop.
