Logistics

Date: Saturday September 23, 2023

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Location: Milo Farm | 31605 E Burgess Rd, Buckner, MO 64016

Please read the following instructions carefully so you can be fully prepared for the day:

If you haven't been to Milo Farm yet, you're in for a treat. The 50 acres of land is incredible and has held space for many sacred ceremonies and gatherings. Find out more about the history and story of Milo Farm here

You can easily find the farm on your GPS. After you turn off of Buckner-Tarsney Rd onto Burgess Rd you will go less than a mile before you see the Milo Farm sign on your left. This is a gravel drive that is shared with another residence so be mindful of that. There are several large speed bumps. Keep driving until the road ends at the Milo Farm gate. You will have to let yourself into the gate and then latch it behind you.

The gates are there to contain the free-ranging donkeys and goats. After getting through the gate, you can park nose-in on the right or park up the hill just a bit on the right.

Your registration for this event includes a Milo Farm experience. Feel free to come a little earlier and enjoy the views and trails or hang out a bit after the workshop is complete. That same gang of wandering donkeys and goats I mentioned earlier often come up and check out what's going on and sometimes they like to nibble. If you want to wander the grounds, go here to look at and download a map of the property.

Cell phone service at Milo Farm is not guaranteed. If you need to contact someone about your arrival, you can text me at 913-515-3271.

This event is being held outdoors in a covered pavilion, rain or shine!

  • Please arrive early enough to unload your car and get settled. I recommend arriving about 15-20 minutes early.

  • Wear/bring whatever clothing you will need to keep you comfortable with the temperature as it rises and falls throughout the day.

  • There will be no refrigeration available so feel free to bring a cooler if you need to.

  • A bathroom is available in the nearby lodge. And, it's also perfectly fine to go behind a tree or bush on the property.

  • Bring enough water or fluid for the day. There will be a water source available to fill up drink containers if needed.

  • If you'd like to spend time on the farm either before or after the workshop, feel free to download a map of the farm.

  • The landowners can only set out so much trash each week for pickup, so they would appreciate us packing out our own trash as much as possible.

What To Do Ahead of Time

In the days leading up to the breathwork, your psyche and energy body will most likely start preparing you. Pay attention to dreams, emotions, visions, messages and signals from your body as these could be signs and important clues.

On Saturday, please refrain from alcohol or any mind-altering substances. (No smoking is allowed during the workshop.) No need to stop any prescription medications. (If you have questions, let me know.)

You may eat breakfast as you see fit but consider it is best not to breathe on a full stomach. You are welcome and encouraged to bring snacks/meals with you.

This breathwork will be conducted in pairs, meaning you'll pair up with someone. One person will breathe while the other is their attendant. Then you'll switch for the second session. If you didn't register with a friend or spouse, no worries. Unaccompanied participants will get paired up before we breathe.

What To Bring

Shamanic Breathwork is generally conducted on the floor. You will need to bring:

  • A pallet for the floor (such as a yoga mat, blanket, cushioned mat, sleeping bag  or whatever you need to be comfortable on the floor). The pavilion has a concrete floor so bring extra padding if needed.

  • Pillow(s) for your head

  • Additional pillows for your body comfort or to hug, if needed

  • Water/drink in a closed container

  • Journal or notebook

  • Wear comfortable clothes

  • An eye mask or bandana if you desire

  • Snacks/meals (please bring a cooler as refrigeration won't be available)

  • Offerings to the earth for the outdoor ceremony (sacred waters, tobacco, cornmeal, stones, crystals, whatever calls to you! Some elements will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own.)

If possible, keep a light to open schedule for Saturday evening so you have time to continue integrating. We'll talk more about self-care during the workshop.

Health & Safety Protocols:

  • Body autonomy is honored - please care for yourself as needed to feel safe.

  • Masks are not required, but please feel free to wear one if you desire.

  • Be mindful about your contact with others in the week leading up to the workshop. If you have any Covid symptoms or have been exposed to someone with Covid, please respect the group by staying home.

  • Please note refunds will not be given after Monday, September 18

I look forward to supporting you in this day of reset, release and rejuvenation with fellow Shamanic Breathwork facilitator Joan Jarrett who will be helping me.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
